Hi, my name is Shannon Mahan! I am 32 years old and I am a returning student to Gwinnett Tech. I am going to school for an associates in Computer Programming! I moved out of Georgia in 2015 and worked for the Army for a long time, but I returned in 2022 and am committed to finishing my education! I worked as a programmer for a startup, but I do not have any official certifications or education on the subject. I am self taught and web development seems really interesting because I have a good understanding of how syntax works with most languages. I have really been enjoying the CSS part of the class because adjusting everything in HTML seems like it would take a lot of time.
When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me hiking, gaming, reading, or cooking. I’m always on the lookout for new experiences, whether it’s exploring a new city, trying out a crazy recipe, or diving into a new book. I think life’s all about balance, so I make sure to find time for both work and play.
Recently, I rescued a puppy! She is currently 16 weeks old and her litter was found in a forest near a park in Lawrenceville. Below are obligatory pictures because I have a cute puppy. I setup the pictures in a grid and have spaced it to adjust with different viewports.
